This small group educational experience is designed for retina specialists involved in the treatment and management of patients with retina disorders. Key goals of the group will be to help participants better identify the current treatment options available for the management of common retinal diseases (neovascular age-related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, retinal vein occlusion), and how to better identify the relationships between disease characteristics, drug, treatment frequency, visual and anatomic outcomes.
Additionally, best practices using individualized patient treatment plans to ensure optimal outcomes for patients, and how treatment paradigms have evolved over time and how they relate to current treatment options will be reviewed. Lastly, the growing importance of imaging for use in disease management will also be discussed.
This self-assessment provides you with the opportunity to test your current knowledge and skills related to DR and DME.
Learn about the fundamental trials and treatments on DR and DME, plus two case presentation from experts in the field.
Review anti-VEGF dosing paradigms investigated in large randomized trials for the treatment of NAMD with case examples.
The latest data on the impact of intraretinal fluid and subretinal fluid in the retinal pigment epithelium on visual acuity.
Assess your improvements in knowledge and skills in DR and DME.
This Group Discussion will include a brief review of responses to the self-study modules, particularly areas of greatest challenge. Group members will then be encouraged to raise questions and discuss challenges they are facing with the group.
This Group Discussion will focus on your responses and comments on the Group Task, particularly on areas in which there were divergent management approaches.
Each of you will be assigned to respond to one or more questions related to the management of a DME case. All group members are encouraged to comment on the other submissions based on their own opinions and experience.
