Andrew A. Moshfeghi, MD, MBA, earned his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in 1999. Following completion of his residency in ophthalmology, Dr. Moshfeghi attended the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute for his fellowship training in medial retina and vitreoretinal surgery and diseases. He also graduated from the University of Miami Graduate School of Business Administration with an MBA specializing in Health Sector Policy and Management.

Dr. Andrew A. Moshfeghi serves as an associate professor of clinical ophthalmology, director of Clinical Trials, and director of the Medical Retina and Surgical Retina Fellowship Programs at USC. He is a recognized expert in diseases of the vitreous, retina, and macula. He formerly served as associate professor of Ophthalmology and medical director at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami. Dr. Moshfeghi is a noted vitreoretinal surgeon.

Dr. Dilsher S. Dhoot was raised in California and received his undergraduate degree with Honors from the University of California, Berkeley. He went on to complete his medical degree at Oregon Health Science University in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Dhoot remained in Portland for his residency training in ophthalmology at the renowned Casey Eye Institute. After completing his residency, Dr. Dhoot pursued fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery at the Cleveland Clinic, Cole Eye Institute. The Cleveland Clinic is a global leader in medical innovation and care and is consistently ranked as one of the top hospitals and ophthalmology programs in the world.

Dr. Dhoot has been honored with several awards during his career including the Honor Award from the American Society of Retina Specialists. Dr. Dhoot has presented his research and lectured at national and international conferences. He has also published numerous book chapters and research articles in several journals including Ophthalmology, the British Journal of Ophthalmology, Retina, Eye, and Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers & Imaging. He currently serves as a section editor for the Retina Times and is also a peer reviewer for several journals. Dr. Dhoot is actively involved in the education of vitreoretinal fellows in his role as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Keck School of Medicine, USC.

Dr. Dhoot has been involved in clinical research for many years. Recently, he has been an investigator in clinical research trials for the treatment of age-related macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusion, and diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Dhoot is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Retina Specialists. He has also been elected to the prestigious Retina Society.

 Roger A. Goldberg, M.D., M.B.A., a native of Boston, graduated from both college and medical school at Yale University. He completed his residency in Miami at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, the nation’s top eye hospital and residency-training program. He returned to Boston for a fellowship in Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery at Tufts and Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston. Dr. Goldberg is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and is an active member of the American Society of Retinal Specialists, the Retina Society, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Goldberg has published numerous research manuscripts and book chapters, including first-author publications in The New England Journal of Medicine, Ophthalmology, JAMA Ophthalmology, and American Journal of Ophthalmology. He serves as a Reviewer for Ophthalmology, AJO and Retina, and lectures at national and international meetings. He has been an investigator in over 30 clinical trials for age-related macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusion, and diabetic retinopathy, among others. His surgical interests include macular surgery, complex retinal detachment repair and complications of cataract surgery.

Between college and medical school, Dr. Goldberg spent a year as a Rotary Scholar at the University of Leiden, The Netherlands, and then worked as a healthcare consultant at McKinsey & Co. In addition to his medical training, Dr. Goldberg received an MBA from Yale and co-founded an ophthalmic startup.

Though loyal to his Boston sports teams, Dr. Goldberg is an enthusiastic transplant to the Bay Area, where he enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and three children.

Dr. Finn was born in London, but moved to the United States at a young age, growing up in Claremont, California. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Human Biology from Stanford University and also minored in Spanish. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa and a member of the Cap and Gown Women's Honor Society. Dr. Finn then went on to pursue both her medical degree and a business degree at the Dartmouth School of Medicine and the Tuck School of Business in Hanover, New Hampshire.

Dr. Finn completed her ophthalmology residency at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. While in residency she received the Gragoudas Prize for her clinical research. She also was a recipient of the Heed Ophthalmic Foundation Fellowship, awarded nationally to top clinical residents in ophthalmology.

Dr. Finn then performed a fellowship in medical and surgical diseases of the retina and vitreous at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. During fellowship, she received the Ronald G. Michels Fellowship Foundation award, given select outstanding fellows in vitreoretinal surgery.

Dr. Finn is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. She has published numerous original research articles on a wide variety of retinal diseases including new techniques for macular hole surgery, the use of intraoperative OCT imaging, and biomarkers of atrophy and scar in macular degeneration. She has also published several book chapters on a wide variety of retinal and ophthalmic topics including diabetic retinopathy, macular hole surgery, ocular trauma, and endophthalmitis among other topics. She is an active member of the American Society of Retina Specialists, American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Finn enjoys swimming, yoga, running, skiing, cooking, and hiking. She was a member of the Stanford Women's Squash Club team for four years.

Dr. Esther Lee Kim is a Southern California native who grew up in the Fullerton area. She received her undergraduate education at Princeton University, where she graduated cum laude with a degree in Molecular Biology. She received her medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine, where she discovered her love of ophthalmology. After her internal medicine internship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, she completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Southern California (USC) Roski Eye Institute (formerly Doheny Eye Institute)/ Los Angeles County Medical Center, one of the busiest and top-ranked residency programs in the country. She then pursued a subspecialty fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. There, she gained clinical and surgical expertise in diseases of the macula, retina, and vitreous.

Dr. Kim has published extensively on a wide range of innovative topics in vitreoretinal surgery that have been featured in leading ophthalmology journals. She has been invited to present her research at national and international ophthalmology meetings, and she serves as an invited reviewer for several top ophthalmology journals, including Retina. Dr. Kim’s clinical interests include macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal tears and detachments, macular puckers and holes, and retinal imaging.

When she is not practicing retina, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, running, yoga, spinning, and trying new restaurants.

 Lisa C. Olmos de Koo, MD, MBA is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology in the division of vitreoretinal surgery at the University of Washington in Seattle, where she is the director of the surgical retina fellowship program at the UW Eye Institute.
Previously, Dr. Olmos served as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Southern California and the Primary Investigator of the Argus device trials at USC for patients blinded by retinitis pigmentosa and related retinal degenerations.
Dr. Olmos received her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Harvard University, her MBA from Rice University, and her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. Her residency and vitreoretinal fellowship training took place at the world-renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami, followed by a year-long term as Chief Resident, Clinical Instructor, and Co-Director of Ocular Trauma at Bascom Palmer.

 Sonia Mehta, MD is an active member of the Retina Service at Wills Eye Hospital and is Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Thomas Jefferson University School of Medicine.

She graduated magna cum laude from Boston University and received her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine where she was awarded the Dr. Samuel & Helen Poplack Award for Outstanding Clinical Competence and Excellence in Patient Care.  Dr. Mehta completed her internship in General Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania-Presbyterian Medical Center.  She performed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Pennsylvania and Scheie Eye Institute. For her dedication and excellence in teaching, she was awarded the University of Pennsylvania Department of Ophthalmology Teaching Award by the faculty and students. Dr. Mehta completed her two-year vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Emory University where she was recognized by the Department of Ophthalmology two years in a row for outstanding clinical research.

Board certified in Ophthalmology, Dr. Mehta has authored numerous articles and book chapters on vitreoretinal diseases and has lectured and taught instructional courses at ophthalmology meetings, both nationally and abroad. She is also author of Step-Up to the USMLE Step 1, among the best-selling medical textbooks, now in its fifth edition.

Dr. Mehta has expertise in all areas of retinal surgery including macular holes, macular pucker, retinal detachment, and diabetic vitrectomy.  She is actively involved as a clinical investigator in several clinical trials pertaining to age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusions, uveitis, and vitreoretinal surgery.  Dr. Mehta is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Retina Specialists, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, American Medical Association, and Pennsylvania Medical Society.

 Dr. Ehsan Rahimy specializes in the medical and surgical management of diseases affecting the retina, with a clinical expertise in macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, macular hole, macular pucker/epiretinal membranes, and uveitis.

Dr. Rahimy has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications, numerous book chapters, as well as other non-peer reviewed literature. He presents regularly at national and international ophthalmic meetings, having contributed over 100 conference abstracts.

He is passionate about the interplay between technology and medicine, and how ongoing advancements will transform healthcare delivery in the near future. Dr. Rahimy is frequently consulted for collaborative research endeavors and advises on numerous early stage companies involved in ophthalmology, telemedicine, A.I., and other medtech innovation.

Dr. Rahimy graduated with highest distinction from the University of Michigan, followed by receiving his medical degree, with high honors, at Baylor College of Medicine. During this time, he was one of a select few junior inductees into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Society. He went on to complete his ophthalmology residency at the world-renowned Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA, recognized as one of the premier residency programs in the country, where he received the Pepose-Saltzman Young Investigator Research Award, Henry & Lilian Nesburn Research Award, and the Devgan Outstanding Surgical Resident Award. Afterwards, he pursued subspecialty training in vitreoretinal surgery at Wills Eye Hospital, considered the preeminent retinal fellowship program, under the guidance and mentorship of many of the field's leaders. While there, he was awarded a Heed Fellowship, the Ronald G. Michels Fellowship Award, and the William B. Tasman Outstanding Fellow Award. 

 

 Dr. Jayanth Sridhar is an Associate Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, FL, where he serves as co-associate residency program director and medical director of the surgical retina service. He has authored over 80 peer-reviewed publications and is a recipient of the American Society of Retinal Specialists Honor and Senior Honor awards. An inductee into the Retina Society, he also is the host and creator of the award-winning educational podcast program "Straight From The Cutter's Mouth: A Retina Podcast", which is the featured podcast of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
